WHAT IS A GO GROUP?
Go Groups are gatherings of 10 to 15 people that meet online or in different places around Orlando, homes, cafés, and restaurants, to share life together.
We pray there and support one another. God created us for relationships, so we believe that through the connections formed in small groups, God helps us grow.
Real life happens in the context of relationships. That’s why our church is made up of small groups. In the Bible, worship happens in the Temple, but personal ministry happens “from house to house.”
“Day after day, they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” Acts 2:46
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What happens at a GO Group meeting?
You’ve probably seen GO Group–type gatherings without realizing it. Think of friends meeting for lunch, a basketball team, or people studying a book or topic together. At its core, a GO Group is a small gathering of people where you’ll share, connect, and make new friends. When you take part, you can expect to join others around a shared activity, engage in a life-giving conversation, and ask for prayer for any need you have.
Why are they called GO Groups?
The word GO comes from the Spanish phrase “Grupo de Oración” (Prayer Group). When you combine the first two letters, you get GO. We believe every group should be rooted in prayer, because through prayer we draw closer to Christ.
How often does a GO Group meet?
Our GO Groups meet in three semesters each year: winter/spring, summer, and fall. During the semester, GO Groups meet once a week. Their purpose is to bring meaning and community to the rhythm of your life, so even if you can’t make every meeting, there is great value in joining a group.
Where do GO Groups meet?
GO Groups meet in person across the city of Orlando. Each group has a different location, often homes, cafés, restaurants, or parks. Some groups also meet virtually.
Is childcare available in GO Groups?
It depends on the group. When you search our directory, each group profile will say whether childcare is available.
What if I don’t like the first group I tried?
Not everyone will find the perfect fit on the first try. We encourage you to pick a few groups that interest you, contact the leader, and try different groups before choosing the best one for you.
